ENTREPLINK PHILIPPINES Gathering at HanWok Chinese Cuisine in Blue Wave Mall

(The rains couldn't stop these guys from attending)

The past few days found most of Metro Manila drenched in rainwater with some even stranded on the road due to flash floods and heavy downpour. I was hoping and praying that Saturday be spared since there were several members and guests who have emailed or texted their intention to join the Enjoyable Get-Together at Han Wok. The Lord has other plans though and decided to continue blessing us with rains.

Despite the heavy downpour, members and guests still showed up and we were blessed with 15 participants! The atmosphere had a certain dreary and sleep-inducing touch to it but everyone got energized from the lively discussions and engaging exchanges of ideas that those present participated in.

The following are the details of what transpired:

a) We started off with the Elevator Sales Pitch, where everyone introduced who they are, their business and the clients they are looking for.

(Entreplinkers introducing their businesses during the Elevator Sales Pitch)

b) Featured Presentations : the following individuals gave a more thorough and detailed presentation of their products and services:

b.1) Glen Josef Jumilla (the youngest active Entreplinker at age 19!)

- Glen presented about a project by FederaLand, particularly the Bay Garden Club and Residences located just a few blocks from Han Wok itself.
- Bay Garden features condos with a bi-level dual view, with one side facing Manila Bay and the other side having a grand view of the metropolis skyline.
- Glen is offering an opportunity to earn to all Entreplink members through their Referral Agent program, where you could earn a good percentage just by referring clients who would avail of Federaland's packages

b.2) Genevieve "Viva" Andrada - (an entrepreneur, writer and event specialist, she is a truly vivacious gal!)

- Viva presented about Fashion ART or F*ART for short. Smelly? No! They're promoting Funky Fashionable Finds Fit for Fun Fan Filipinos. After saying that mouthfuls of "F"s, visit their website at http://www.happyfart.com/ and see for yourself the awesome works of art and fashion accessories that they have to offer
- F*ART is also promoting Pinoy artists, designers and their products in their art gallery and product displays. They also have a salon/barber shop on top of the events that Viva can organize. Truly dynamic!

c) Distribution of Kaya Mo Pinoy! 12 Steps to Build Wealth on Any Income by Alvin Tabanag to the early birds from the previous EB.

Unfortunately, not all recipients were present but a considerable number got their share and were asked to send out their comments about the book.

d) Entreplink Matters (presided by Rolly Pagaspas):

d.1) To start off the meeting, Rolly asked the participants what are they expectations or what do they want to have as part of Entreplink. Responses were given and the following stood prominent from among the suggestions:
  • an MLM/Direct Marketing product that Entreplinkers can call their own
  • more NETWORKING EVENTS / Business Opportunities
  • a DISCUSSION FORUM that would give relevant information to entrepreneurs or would be entreprenuers (ex: investments/soruces of income for displaced OFW's)
d.2) Rolly gave a short background about Entreplink Philippines and its main goal, which is to be an online-based business LINK for entrepreneurs. A proposal is then given of creating a special feature fora particular industry and link it to several networks with the goal of achieving business matching. The mechanics are as follows:

MODEL:
Business opportunites exists and are presented between an individual and members of Entreplink. These opportunities are currently made known through emails using an approved email address. Later on, Entreplink will streamline this by adding a user profile that goes together with the ID. This would separate true Entrepreneurs from scammers and spammers.

FOUNDATION:
As part of Entreplink's thrust of becoming an online based LINK for Entrepreneurs for business matchins, particular events for a particular segment will be featured and marketed online. Example marketing durations per segment would be for two months full posting on a NEW Entreplink Philippines website. Subscribers who would avail of the package would have their products and/or services featured in the websites product presentation sections, mini-seminars about their products; and a virtual booth. From there, products and services would be well-presented to Entreplink members and guests which can result to potential business matchings.

The market segments identified are as follows:
  • Property (rental / sale)
  • Retailing ( Food / Non-Food)
  • Health, Beauty and Wellness
  • Marketing Services
  • Financial Services
  • Parts and Accessories
On top of the Special Features section of the new website, there will also be a section for TAGS where members of Entreplink Philippines can be grouped together according to their market segments, post their Business/Contact Info, and where another Entreplink member or guest could simply browse through in search of a particular product and service and find possible BUSINESS MATCHEs with existing members of Entreplink. The TAGS will be posted all-year round as long as the member is active and follows certain guidelines that will be established.

Segments and individual businesses would be LINKED to more than 200+ networks for potential lead generation and prospective clienteles. These LINKS shalll also be shared with Media Partners that we will tie up with.

INFRASTRUCTURE:
Entreplink Philippines now has an office at Worldnet Business Center where the nitty gritty of this project will launch from. What is needed is a name and identify for the new website, plus technical support in the design / construction of the website.

OFFLINE GATHERINGS / EYEBALLS:
With a wide membership reach and geographical base, Entreplink shall be divided into subgroups by location: North, East, West and South. Each group would have face to face meetings, where business matching can be consummated and deals finalized. Each meetings will be structured according to the format that will be established.

d.3) An initial meeting with the CORE group will be held on Thursday at 2pm at the Worldnet Business Center in Makati. Individual emails shalle be sent to the attendees.

e) Entreplinks CASHFLOW 101 Game

(Jason giving pointers about the game)

After lunch, the participants proceeded with the second round of the Cashflow 101 game facilitated by Jason Estimado, this time without a limited time allotment so participants can focus fully on the game. Again, it was a very enlightening experience as everyone present got to know the cashflow and financial principles that Robert Kiyosaki wanted to teach through his books and through this game.

It was another enjoyable session as members tried to get out of the RAT RACE. Finally, through the guidance of Jason, everyone got out of the RAT RACE spearheaded by Jay Menes, who played the role of a teacher. Incidentally, it was some sort of revelation for Jay as he and his partners are finalizing their plans of putting up a new school! Great job Jay!

Due to insistent public demand and the urgency of launching the new Entreplink Projects, the next ENJOYABLE GET-TOGETHER would be on June 13, Saturday 10am to 12nn at Han Wok Blue Wave with another session of Cashflow 101 from 1 to 4pm afterwards.

See you all there and God Bless!

11 Common Investment Mistakes

How do you make your money work for you? One way is by investing your money. Investments are a way to make your money grow through the stock market, investment companies, mutual funds, and retirement accounts. But, while you are looking to invest your hard-earned money in something, don't forget to familiarize yourself with the mistakes that are more commonly made by new investors:

1. Not taking advantage of your 401(k) plan.

Most employers offer a retirement plan for their employees. It can either be used from the first day of employment or there may be a short waiting period (usually 3 to 12 months). Whatever the circumstances, contribute to the plan as soon as you are able. Another advantage of investing in your company's 401(k) is that many companies will match all or a portion of the amount you contribute.

2. Not having a plan.

Whether it is a 401(k) plan, an IRA, or another investment vehicle, go into it with a plan for contributing and how to invest the funds. If you just put your money into it and do nothing else, you have a glorified savings account. Let your age, family responsibilities, and the market determine how you will invest the funds so that you get the highest return possible.

3. Investing too heavily on the risky side.

This is the risk most people associate with investing. Obviously, investing in investments that are too risky could lead to the loss of a person's hard earned money.
4. Investing too heavily on the conservative side.

This is one that most people don't think about. Fear of the market and/or lack of knowledge of investments could cause a person to invest too conservatively. Conservative investing could lead to insufficient returns. Insufficient returns could
mean that a person doesn't accumulate enough money to reach their goals (i.e. retirement)

5. Putting all your eggs in one basket.

There needs to be a good mix of stocks, bonds, and other investment vehicles so maximize your money. Different investment vehicles perform differently depending on economic conditions. Simply investing in one thing limits your money's potential.

6. Falling for get rich quick schemes.

For a while everyone was into those "hot tip" stocks that promised a quick profitable return. Playing with fire like that for too long will result in you getting burned and your money going up in flames.

7. Not knowing when to get out is a potential problem.

For a lucky few, getting to ride the wave of a great stock to high profit is a rush and an
opportunity. The trick is to know when to get out and put your money into something more stable for long-term growth.

8. Too much information can immobilize us.

We don't invest because we are on overload and don't want to make a mistake. The only mistake here is not giving it a try. Use an investment advisor to limit financial mistakes.

9. Trying to invest with other debt.

Before you are free to invest, the money must be freed up to do so. Pay off credit card debt first so that you have the cash to devote to investments. This also ensures a gain. Think about this. If you have a credit card which is charging you 18.99% or higher, you save 18.99% by paying off the balance. Few investments can produce that type of return.

10. Paying too much in commission fees.

When you know what you want to do, ask how much it will cost, before you invest. Shop and compare prices and services just as you would for other products you buy.

11. Not using a professional.

If a person is not feeling well, they go to a professional, i.e. a doctor. It should be the same when dealing with your financial health. Find a professional that can offer recommendations based on your particular circumstances.
